Spotlight

The class of August 2026

Over several weeks, young people in Ilorin learned crochet and video editing, sat in on mentorship sessions about AI, time and mental health, served their community, and graduated with a talent hunt to remember.

“We didn’t just teach skills. We invested in people.”

In their own words

Sometimes, giving back isn’t about how much you have, but about what you’re willing to share. Watching these teenagers learn, ask questions, try again and slowly get the hang of it reminded me of how I started too.
Dee’s CrocheCrochet facilitator, 2026 camp
For some of them, crochet was completely new, so seeing them turn what they had learnt into something they could actually wear and say “I made this” was such a beautiful moment.

Kindness is something that needs to be acted upon and shown to people. When we come together, we can do more to prevent children from ending up on the streets.

The goal was never just to teach skills. It was about equipping young people for life. Their skills, mindset, confidence, choices and wellbeing.
